I recently visited this site called portableapps.com, which has a number of portable applications. The site has title with bold tagline "Pick a Pc.. any PC", and they stick to their commitment. To use the services of the site, you have to login for which you have to give your email address.

The application include many of the popular open source applications such as Mozilla Firefox, Thunderbird, VlC player. The accessibility options contain the on screen keyboard and magnifying glass. Notepad++ and Xamp development tools are also provided for development, which actually help for programmer who has to shift all the programs with them.It has a long list of apps which are commonly used.
